Fifteen years later, she’s still chasing recess.

Harley’s love for writing began in grade 5, when she was given an assignment right before recess. In an effort to blow her teacher away (and let’s face it, get out of class early), she wrote an impassioned personal essay, like no other 10-year-old could. Her reward? The freedom to wander paradise for all 10-year-olds – the playground. As she played, she realized something odd – the joy was not in the reward. Her joy was in the process of writing.
